COLANI - THE ART OF SHAPING THE FUTURE

The Colani Book

In the course of its 508 pages, the new book on Colani for the first time showcases the wide-ranging oeuvre of Luigi Colani, the German designer, in the context of international design history, of technological change, and of the social utopias of the 1960s.

The new publication covering Colani’s oeuvre came at an appropriate time, as the 3D aproach Colani has always taken to design and his permanent effort to use design to cross new borders and explore the limits of the given international have recently come to be recognized as a trailblazing undertaking in this regard. Colani carefully observes nature and derives from it many of the shapes and forms of his unmistakable design idiom – for in his opinion nature offers paramount solutions to most design tasks.
